With the help of the override controls, special scenarios such as absence, holiday and Internet failures can be covered. The advantage of the override controls is, on the one hand, that they can be activated for several numbers at the same time and thus an adjustment of the dial plans per number is not necessary and, on the other hand, that the dial plans under Telephone numbers do not have to be changed if you want to temporarily adjust the behaviour of the switchboard.

From KVM300 and higher, internal users can now also be dialled, this is useful if the diversion of a direct dial should also affect internal calls.

Prority

Override controls always have priority over dial plans created under Telephone numbers dial plans created under telephone numbers.

Whether a override control is executed at the time of the call depends on the following criteria:

  • The relevant destination number has been selected or All has been selected.
  • Activate dial plan  is active.
  • The dial plan settings are valid at this time.

The override controls are prioritised as follows:

In case of failure: > Always > Date > Weekday > Overload

This chapter only deals with which types of override controls can be used for which scenarios. For details on how the dial plans themselves work, please refer to the chapter Telephone numbers or Dial plans.

Active override controls

Under Telephone numbers, where a override control is active and a criterion applies, this is indicated there with Attention... override control active. If you want to see the override control in question, click on the red text.

Designation/delete

Designation for the override control. Clicking Delete deletes the entire override control.

Filter

Here you have the option to set a filter that affects the sender number. If, for example, you want to handle calls from mobile networks separately, this can be done with the entry 076*;077*;078*;079*. Or the entry of the telephone numbers of the customers that you want to route differently. Or country codes etc.

Exception filter

Here you can enter telephone numbers and/or number blocks as described under Filter, which are excluded from the entry under Filter. For example, the entries 076777*;0798886677 cause calls from participants with the numbers 0767770000-0767779999 and 0798886677 to be excluded from this override control. The exception filter is evaluated before the filter.

Numbers concerned

Specify here the telephone numbers for which this override control is to apply. One or more numbers, either All or Selection. From version KVM300 and higher, internal participants can also be selected.

Numbers concerned

If the selection field for Numbers concerned is set to Selection and no number is selected, this override control is never activated. If you want to select all numbers, please set the selection field to All.

Announcements/on-hold music (incoming) & mailbox (after dial plan)

As described under Dial Plans.

Dial plan

Mode

  • In case of failure: The dial plan stored under this override control is executed exactly when the dial plan has been activated at the same time (Activate dial plan ), the device selected under Use the following device for connection monitoring cannot be reached (no response to SIP options packets) and the destination number has been selected in the Numbers concerned field.
  • Always: The dial plan stored under this override control is executed exactly when the dial plan has been activated at the same time (Activate dial plan selected) and the destination number has been selected in the Numbers concerned field.
override controls in the Always mode can be activated and deactivated by selecting the code chosen in the Key code field. Activating and deactivating the override control via key code has the same effect as activating or deactivating it by clicking on Activate dial plan in the web interface. (The values are always the same: if you deactivate the dial plan via key code, it will also be deactivated in the web interface and vice versa). Note that you can view the status of the override control (activated or deactivated) on your telephone. For this purpose, the selected key code must be stored as an extension on a key. If the dial plan is activated, the key lights up. If it is not activated, the button does not light up. The button can also be programmed by means of provisioning. (key function override control under Provisioning).
  • Date: The dial plan stored under this override control is executed exactly when the dial plan has been activated at the same time (Activate dial plan ), the current time is in the time window selected under From and To and the destination number has been selected in the Numbers concerned field.
  • Weekday: The dial plan stored under this override control is executed exactly when the dial plan has been activated at the same time (Activate dial plan ), the current time and weekday overlap with the selected settings and the destination number has been selected in the Numbers concerned field.

In order to detect faulty operation of a special circuit, activation and deactivation are logged. To display the history, click on the  next to Activate dial plan.

No logs available

Automatic switchovers are not logged e.g. by Date, Weekday or In case of failure. Only the Activate dial plan event is recorded to determine the manual intervention. The logs are deleted when the PBX is rebooted.
